Instructor: Jeff Greene
This workshop will cover the fundamentals of the Canon Speedlite flash system and demonstrate creative lighting techniques using a single Speedlite flash. It will feature a series of presentations, discussions, and live shooting sessions that will clearly demonstrate the basic knowledge you need to get started using the Canon Speedlite system.
In this four-hour class, we will discuss how the Canon Speedlite system works, demystify the “buttonology”, and learn how to use a single flash to create simple, yet professional looking portraits. You will also learn the best methods for controlling flash exposure, balancing flash with natural light, and creating images that appear to be lit with multiple lights; ….all from just one flash.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their DSLRs and Speedlites to follow along and to have all their questions answered during the Q&A sessions and during breaks.
Learn all about:
- Canon Speedlite “buttonology” and operation
- ETTL vs Manual exposure
- Flash Exposure Compensation
- Balancing flash with available light
- Modifying flash for softer light
- “One Flash” portrait lighting techniques
